Getting the Right Instrument: We Have a Great Selection in the Store and Online

If you walk into Piero’s Music, you will see a fully stocked music store. We carry acoustic and electric guitars, electric basses, drum kits, cymbals, horns and violins. 

We sell high-quality, budget-priced instruments that appeal to people shopping for really good instruments, not collectibles. We’re not a massive retailer, so if you walk in and want to buy the same model Rickenbacker model 325 guitar that John Lennon used during his career with The Beatles, you’re not going to find one hanging on our wall. Only highly specialized shops will carry such an instrument, and the cost for keeping that on the wall may be reflected in higher prices for budget-priced models for beginner and intermediate players. We can certainly help you acquire an outrageous guitar, but our stock is generally more modest. 

The instruments we carry are mid-line products from major manufacturers. These are well-crafted, durable instruments that will serve you well for many years. Which ones are best? We generally carry a few models, which allow customers to select something that is the best fit for them. Those are highly personal decisions, and it can be how something feels in your hand, or a selection based on space limitations. 

As for our online selections, we made a deliberate decision to move our online store to Reverb. It’s very hard for us to stand out in the marketplace when people are shopping online, and it’s not easy to find us. Plus, it’s a lot of work to maintain a website that has the majority of our inventory online. 

Having our online stock on Reverb gives us many strategic advantages. But, if you make a purchase on our Reverb store and you live locally, you can come in and pick up your instrument at our store. 

We also encourage our customers to read our Return Policy. This is important because there are some instruments or accessories that we cannot take back and restock for sale once they have been used. 

So, what would a guitar like that John Lennon Rickenbacker cost you? We took a look, and you would likely pay well more than $3,000 for a similar guitar. The exact guitar? Well, John Lennon’s lost acoustic guitar from the song “Help” fetched nearly $2.9 million at auction in 2024. We’re guessing that’s far beyond the budget of our customers. And this is why we’ve invested our money in inventory that will appeal to our customer base.
